First Girls Fixture

Hastings & Bexhill’s Girls went to Uckfield on Sunday 12 January for their first fixture.

Only nine of the Under 15s travelled to Uckfield but they were bolstered by players from Uckfield and had a great time, playing their hearts out and leaving the pitch with the biggest grins on their faces. They lost, but as this was the first time they had played as a team not surprising really. A couple of new players would see us with a full Under 15s squad.

The under 13s game saw us mixed with Medway. The four girls that we have in this age group played well showing ability and they have already established a real bond. As a result of their performance and the passion for the game they showed on Sunday they have been offered games with three other clubs!

We have five under 18s and the younger ones have been offered the chance to go and train as often as they wish with the under 18s at Uckfield and also to play in their matches until our team is more established. They would play like the Barbarians – Uckfield Shirts but H&B socks!.

Girls Team Manager Cinnamon McManus says that she has been paid many compliments on our girls section over the last few days, these were with regards to their behaviour, how polite and well-mannered they are, and their ability to follow instructions.

The objective for the rest of the is to get the girls as much game play as possible whilst still trying to recruit more girls.
