Welcome to the Under 10's group page.

This year group is in school year 5. The big change for this year group is the introduction of rucks, mauls and uncontested scrums.

With help from our experienced coaches, the children learn how to create, enter and clear a ruck safely, learn the beginnings of scrummaging and understand mauls. The children absolutely love this - although it does tend to lead to more washing after games as getting muddy is an inevitable part of the process!

The emphasis throughout is on the values of the game of rugby - you won't find a nicer bunch of children (or parents) anywhere! Festivals, events and joint training takes place throughout the year - giving our young players the chance to test their skills against other teams across Sussex. The focus is on participation - everyone is welcome and all children will get the chance to play at tournaments.

Our usual training time is 0930-1100am at the Hastings & Bexhill RFC ground on the Ark Alexandra William Parker site.

Please do come along and give it a go - if you've not experienced mini's rugby before you will find it a very different experience to some other sports - an atmosphere of encouragement, respect, fun and warmth pervades and you won't regret it!
