Girls Takeover Day 2025

U16s girls takeover the Minis Section

After weeks of hard work and organisation the day finally arrived for the Girls Takeover Day!

Thankfully we had perfect rugby weather with the sun shining, pitches in great condition and an abundance of eager Minis ready to have a great session.

After a 'meet and greet' session and photo shoot in the clubhouse, each Minis age group enjoyed a full session coached by the U16s girls, each getting stuck in with various skills to help out the younger generation of players. The day encouraged some new Minis girls to come up and try out the club, a huge success in itself!

Dale Whittington, U16s Coach says "The girls really enjoyed the experience of coaching and working with the younger players. Coaching is a great way of better understanding sport and they are keen to do more. They were well supported by the Minis coaches and we are very thankful to the Minis Coaches for showing them the ropes."

The day full of smiles, laughter and mud wrapped up with a pretty large photograph of everyone, a thank you speech from Club Chair Ben Davies, a well done speech from Councillor Glenn Haffenden and a guard of honour for the U14s girls team who won against Horsham!

We would like to extend our huge gratitude to everyone who contributed to todays event from the Prince's who worked tirelessly to organise everything, Councillor Haffenden for his presence and help, Mike, Dale and Sarah for pulling the girls together, Jo & Flic in the clubhouse, Shaun for his photography skills, all the coaches and managers who help weekly and of course the U16s Girls Team for being incredible coaches ... looks like we may need to make this an annual event :)
