Under 16s : H&B RFC 19 v Tonbridge RFC 7

In the first of our pre season double header we travelled to Tonbridge Judians to play a fixture on their 3G pitch. The early exchanges were very even with a few clean breaks from each team being stopped by strong defence to cancel each other out and head into half time with the score at 0-0. The second half started in similar circumstances with strong running forward play, an H&B lineout was played out to the backs where a handling error in midfield was fumbled which allowed Tonbridge to run in unopposed and break the deadlock, they converted to make it 7-0. This seemed to fire H&B into action and a few phases after the restart and quick hands through the backs saw fly half Charlie Glasper dive over in the corner, the conversion was missed from a tight angle. This turned the tide of the game and from a Tonbridge scrum in their own 22, the ball was won against the head and quickly recycled to Charlie Glasper to dive under the posts for his second which he converted. As the game came to a close the H&B pack showed their dominance as the Tonbridge penalty count racked up, a quickly taken penalty found Glasper scampering over for his third try which he converted, meaning he scored all the points in an impressive 19-7 victory.
